Marshall Middle School Guidance Department Mission Statement

The mission of the Guidance Department is to ensure that all children have the opportunity to receive an educational experience that promotes personal/social, academic, and career development skills that will allow them to become productive citizen by receiving the necessary skills to prepare them for the work force.

How to Help Your Child Succeed in School

• Send your child to school in a good frame of mind.

• Build up confidence with such statements as, "I am proud of you".

• Praise your child for doing something well, especially if it not usually a strong point.

• Expect to see samples of schoolwork regularly, ask for it.

• Support the teacher and the school. 

• If you have a concern, talk your child's teacher about the concern.

• Make sure your student has all of the proper supplies.

• Show real interest in school.  Join the PTSA and visit the school regularly.

• Check homework and encourage careful work.

• Encourage 100% school attendance and to be on time each day.
